The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) was established by the government to set national training standards. These standards are known as Unit Standards.

Unit standards are used to qualify all levels of training from courses delivered by schools, right through to post graduate studies offered at university. Nationally recognised Certificates are made up of Unit Standards and they ensure that the training is delivered and assessed to a certain standard and therefore will be recognised throughout New Zealand and also in some other countries such as Australia, U.K. and Canada.

Organisations that are registered and accredited by NZQA can offer training based on Unit Standards. This includes Universities, Polytechnics, Industry Training Organisations (ITO's) and Private Training Establishments (PTE's) .

Trainzco provides unit standard based training and assessment on behalf of Polytechnics,  ITO's and PTE's throughout New Zealand.

Trainzco writes training resources and assessment tools for ITO's, PTE's and our clients. These resources can be unit standard, industry or company based packages and include PowerPoint training tools, resource handout books for trainees and specific assessment tools that verify an understanding of the subject/unit being taught.
